Fiberglass Insulation Removal

Fiberglass Insulation Removal

Residents in Hoboken, Long Beach Island, Mantoloking, Ocean City, Atlantic City, Newark or any other town in New Jersey that has fiberglass insulation in crawl spaces or attics and have experienced water damage from the recent hurricane floods need to get it removed immediately to avoid mold build up. Eastern Contractor Services / Four Seasons Insulation is New Jersey’s leader in fiberglass removal and sprayfoam insulation installation.

FOSTER First Defense Disinfectant (40-80)

After the wet damaged insulation is removed we will spray the wood framing in the crawl and on the first floor walls with Foster® First DefenseTM Disinfectant (40-80), an EPA Registered formulation that kills odor-causing bacteria and inhibits the growth of mold and mildew. This all-in-one “disinfectant, cleaner, fungicide, mildewstat, germicide and deodorizer” is designed for use in water damage restoration and for clean-up of mold and microbe impacted porous and non-porous materials. For homes, hospitals, institutions and industrial use. www.fosterproducts.com

Re- Insulation with Fiberglass or Spray Foam

After the crawl space and walls have had a chance to completely dry and are treated with disinfectant we can replace the insulation to make sure your home is more comfortable and energy efficient than it was previously.

There is nothing wrong with re installing fiberglass insulation. It is less expensive and can be done very quickly. However, if this new insulation gets wet again it will again need to be replaced. A second alternative is to install closed cell spray foam in the crawl space and bottom portion of the first floor walls. The closed cell foam is structured so that water will NOT penetrate the surface of the foam and the water will actually be stopped from moving into the house. Spray Applied Closed Cell Insulation is the ONLY form of insulation material that is approved and supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) , NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) Flood-Damage-Resistant Design in construction standards. In additional, spray foam is a much more effective way to insulate against the cold.It will help save on energy costs and also improve air quality of your home or building in New Jersey. Spray foam insulation stops air infiltration which makes your home warmer in the winter and stay cooler in the summer..Studies show that 40% of a home’s energy is lost due to air infiltration.

Using spray foam insulation will decrease the amount of energy lost, in turn creating a reduced utility bill. By having spray foam insulation, you create a healthier place to live and also reduce risks for the development of dangerous mold. Other benefits of spray foam insulation include sound deadening within the home and enhancement of the building’s stability.

Our spray foam crews are working night and day to accommodate the high demand to spray foam insulation. In an effort to help our customers and the shore community, we will install temporary fiberglass insulation in crawl spaces while you wait for our spray foam schedule to permit us to install your permanent insulation. This will be at NO CHARGE if we receive a signed contract and 50% deposit for the spray foam insulation. Customers can get a quick fix and stay warm until their spray foam crew arrives.
